Customization of the course grading scale

As you know, the assessable activities of the platform have by default a grading scale in which a score is given from 0 to 100. Based on this grading scale, a minimum grade can be configured in the group to consider an activity as completed, as well as a minimum grade as criteria for passing the course.
We are happy to inform you that, from now on, this grading scale will be configurable. This change allows us greater flexibility to adapt to the different needs that have arisen, either because there are countries that work with a different grading scale, or because courses need to be adapted to different grading scales.

To modify the minimum and/or maximum grade for a course and its activities, we have created a new section at the course level on the right side menu called “Grading scale”. Therefore, if you wish to make any changes, they must be made in each of the individual courses, or when the new ones are created:

The scale that has been defined will be reflected in all the sections where there is a record of the learners' grades, such as in the “Grades” menu, “Reports”, the learner's Campus…

It must be taken into account that modifying this scale will change proportionally the minimum grade configured in the groups to give an activity as completed and the one indicated in the criteria for passing the course:

In case a different weighting has been activated in any activity, the change will also be reflected.

Therefore, if there are learners who are taking the course at that moment, in order to adapt it to the new grade range, the grade of the activities performed will be recalculated, as well as the grade of their subjects and final grade of the course.
The modifications will only be effective in active enrollments, not in those that are in read-only or archived.
